Woodlike appearance - but nevertheless, grass

Although strand woven bamboo products look and behave like wood, bamboo is a grass species, and not wood.  It is derived sustainably from rapidly renewable, well managed plantations that require minimal treatment as bamboo is strongly resistant to diseases, insects and climatic conditions.

Bamboo offers an attractive and high performance supplement to our limited global supply of valuable hardwoods used in commercial, residential, interior design and furnishing applications.

Made from rapidly renewable Moso bamboo

Strand woven bamboo flooring is manufactured from mature five-year Moso bamboo canes which are cut into fine strands and air and kiln dried. The strands are then carbonised and placed in a pressurised steam vessel to achieve the required colour.  The bamboo strands are bonded together through intense pressure and heat to produce extremely hard, durable and consistently coloured flooring planks.

After planing and sanding on both sides, the planks are milled with Tongue & Groove or the Uniclic system, and finished with 6 layers of water-based and solvent-free Klumpp® coatings and UV cured.
